Jack Lalanne showed that fitness and wellness can help you defy the effects of aging. Here is a list of his accomplishments. My personal favorite was his 70th birthday, when he swam 1.5 miles while towing 70 boats behind him...while handcuffed!
he did WHAT????? Jack was soooo awesome! I can't pull a rubber ducky in a bathtub with both hands! Jack was a true pioneer. the Godfather of fitness, holistic Heath, juicing, infomercials, so many things. He recognized and targeted women as a potential fitness audience at a time when they were all but ignored. In the early days of TV he branded himself decades before the term was even utilized. I did a similar tribute on my blog as well as a caricature drawing of him doing his famous one handed finger pustule.
Whoa...just left one of the sites you recommended..I had NO IDEA thatJack was in his FORTIES when he was doing the JACK La Lanne show! I had him at least ten years younger!! The man was the epitome of fitness and vigorous Heath. Considering his amazing feats of strength and endurance, Jack was not, comparatively speaking, a large man. Not by the steroid induced standards of today. He was a natural bodybuilder who possessed and equally strong, tenacious mind and WILL power that is very rare today. That he was a superb physical specimen is obvious, but he was a mental giant as well. Enjoyed your blog post very much.
